Venerable Peter Eagles to succeed Bishop Robert
The next Bishop of Sodor and Mann says he's looking forward to starting life in the Island.
Downing Street this morning confirmed that the Venerable Peter Andrew Eagles will succeed Robert Paterson in the role.
The Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, said the 57-year-old - who's currently Archdeacon of the British Army - will bring experience and 'spiritual gifts' to the Manx people during his tenure.
The Bishop-Elect is in the Island this week, where he'll meet members of the local clergy, Tynwald members and the Lieutenant Governor.
It's believed he will formally assume the role in the coming months.
