A new species of bat has been discovered on the Isle of Man.
June and July recordings of nathusius's pipistrelle have received confirmation by a leading specialist in the identification of the mammals.
The thumb-sized bats were found at two separate locations by the River Neb in Peel and Elfin Glen in Ramsey.
Nick Pinder, from the Manx Bat Group, says it's possible they could have been heading to Northern Ireland where they're known to breed.
The discovery brings the total number of bat species on the Island to eight.
