DED chief says views of Committee were not rejected
The Economic Development Minister says the views of the Minimum Wage Committee were not rejected.
Laurence Skelly was speaking following criticism of government's move to introduce a minimum wage for over 25s of £7.50 per hour from 1 June.
The Minister says the recommendations of the committee were actually accepted - but a new band of pay has now been introduced.
