Graeme Corrin takes up post as schools return
The new head teacher at Ballakermeen High School says he’s hoping to restore 'continuity' to education following the disruption caused by Covid.
As well as multiple lockdowns the Douglas secondary school faced high staff absence towards the end of the last academic year - meaning students were often asked to work from home.
Pupils return to school today (7 September) after the summer break.
There'll be meeting the new man in charge Graeme Corrin.
He takes over from Adrienne Burnett who has retired from the position after more than 20 years:
Following a push to recruit new members of staff the school has 17 new teachers starting this term.
