Injured motorcycle riders are being invited to track their recovery in a new app.

It's called 'Recovery Riders' and is described as a 'community for motorcyclists'.

The app has been created by Belgian amateur motocross rider Dieter Jans who says he doesn't want a rider to experience their comeback alone.

The app, which is available on various app stores, allows riders to count down to their recovery day, add in important milestones and connect with other motorcyclists experiencing injuries.

Dieter told Manx Radio he got the idea after suffering a long-term injury himself:

Dieter adds the app isn't exclusively for injured riders as he hopes other motorcyclists will use Recovery Riders to support those who are.

It is also available to bikers of all backgrounds and levels and is available in English, French, German, Italian and Dutch.

You can download it on Android HERE and on Apple HERE.
