Health body marking Neurodiversity Celebration Week
Manx Care is in its ‘infancy’ in supporting patients, and its own healthcare professionals, with their neurodiverse conditions.
That's according to the interim director of people.
This week marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week – a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences.
It’s believed between 15 and 20 percent of the population have a diagnosable neurodiverse condition.
The awareness campaign aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported in an effort to empower them.
Miriam Heppell is Manx Care’s interim director of people – she told Manx Radio neurodiversity can be ‘a real superpower’ and the organisation is keen to do more:
