Union says it now represents 70% of DESC teachers
One of the Island's teaching unions has almost doubled its membership since September.
The NASUWT says it now represents 70% of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture's teaching staff, up from 40% in September.
The ongoing pay dispute between three unions and the department has led to the increase, according to the union.
Local negotiating secretary Geraldine O'Neill believes the union's size means it needs to be taken seriously by the DESC:
