Port Erin Coastguard is warning of a mysterious white substance which has washed up on the village's beach.
It's said to be 'lard like', has a waxy appearance and a faint smell of petrol.
The pieces vary in size from that of a golf ball to about a foot square.
Samples have been taken away to be analysed.
Dog owners are advised to keep their animals on a lead, and away from the substance.
The police say if you find anything on the Island's coastline matching the above description call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
