Magistrates' powers of sentencing 'insufficient to deal with case'
A court's heard police found £1,000 worth of cannabis and more than £18,000 in cash after raiding an alleged drug-dealing mum and son.
Paula Marshall and Liam Bradley of Springfield Avenue in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
Fifty-year-old Miss Marshall and 27-year old-Bradley pleaded not guilty to possessing criminal property and possessing the class B drug with intent to supply.
Bradley has admitted possessing cannabis.
Prosecution advocate Chrissie Hunt told the court police raided the family home just after 9.30am on 4 August.
Inside the house, they discovered 65 grammes of cannabis as well as £18,354 in cash.
Magistrates said their powers of sentencing were insufficient to deal with the case, and declined jurisdiction.
They bailed Miss Marshall and Bradley in the sum of £500, and they're next due to appear on 22 October.
