Authority to work with Dandara to tackle smell
Manx Utilities says it will be carrying out work with Dandara to reduce concerns over odour at a housing estate in Peel.
The authority has confirmed plans to address issues at Reayrt Ny Keylley after some in the area complained of an unpleasant smell.
MU says it will work with the housing provider to clean out any septic sludge at its private treatment works, which is believed to be causing the odours, and the local sewer network will be jetted.
No work will be carried out on weekends, and MU warns the odours may temporarily worsen while work is carried out.
The private treatment works will no longer be needed once the Peel Wastewater Treatment Works goes live in May 2027.
