MT theft sentencing delayed 

Prosecutors failed to seek a victim impact statement

The sentencing of a man who stole more than £50,000 of equipment from his employer has been delayed. 

Sean Lowther, of Reginald Close has pleaded guilty to stealing smartphones and a smartwatch from Manx Telecom between 2021 and 2024.

Lowther had been due to be sentenced at Douglas Courthouse this morning. 

However Deemster Graeme Cook was informed that the prosecution had failed to seek a victim impact statement from MT. 

As a result, the sentencing was adjourned until 9 October.
