Ward closed to new admissions
A ward at Noble’s Hospital has been temporarily closed to new admissions after an outbreak of MRSA.
Patients on the affected ward, as well as their relatives, have been informed and assured all precautions are in place to contain it.
Health chiefs say a small number of patients are carrying MRSA but are showing no signs or symptoms of associated illness or infection.
Visitors to Noble’s and other health and social care facilities are being reminded of the importance of good hand hygiene and reminded to use sanitising hand gels where available.
