Mountain to close on Tuesday

Department of Infrastructure has postponed work due to weather

The Department of Infrastructure says it will start work tomorrow (Tuesday) to get the Mountain Road ready for the next big motorsports event.

Workers will shut the route to make final preparations for the Festival of Motorcycling which gets underway a week on Saturday.

The work was supposed to get underway today (Monday) but poor weather meant it was postponed.

The Mountain Road will close at 9.30am and remain closed until around 4.30pm.
