Vessel delayed off Heysham
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has confirmed the Ben-my-Chree has suffered a technical fault, delaying this afternoon's sailing to Heysham.
After spending the past two days in Douglas harbour for repairs following what was described as an 'unprecedented' mechanical failure early on Saturday morning, the boat returned to service this morning.
It was nearly three hours late departing due to final repairs and set sail at 11.38am.
She was due to dock in Heysham at 3.15pm, but that has been delayed by nearly two hours with the ferry on the outskirts of the port.
The company says engineers have now repaired the fault.
The delay has had a knock-on effect for the return sailing, which will now depart Heysham at 6.40pm.
