Patient returning from UK appointment found to have new Covid strain
The more transmissible variant of coronavirus thought to be behind the rising case numbers in the UK has been identified on the Isle of Man.
A patient who returned from an appointment off Island before Christmas has been found to have contracted the new strain.
It's thought this version of Covid-19 is up to 70% more infectious.
Despite this, Director of Public Health Dr Henrietta Ewart says it doesn't change the approach to contact tracing:
