More than 25% of children enrolled for GCSEs failed maths last year

Results prompt calls for change

More than a quarter of children on the school roll failed to achieve a pass grade in maths last year.

In addition, 23 percent of pupils did not achieve a pass in English.

The statistics were revealed by Legislative Council member Dawn Kinnish during a Tynwald debate on the future vision and direction of secondary education.
