More driver and vehicle services moving online

Forms part of government's planned modernisation programme

More driver and vehicle services will be available online from the end of this month.

On 31 March, arrangements for driver and vehicle services currently delivered by the Post Office will cease.

The move is part of government's planned modernisation programme to make services simpler, faster and more convenient for users.

New services available online will include; change of ownership, individual registration of a vehicle, and the changer of a vehicle registration mark - including cherished plates.

A host of other services were brought online last year, and it's intended that by August this year all driver and vehicle services should be available online.

Residents who prefer to complete transactions in person can continue to access all driver and vehicle services from the Vehicle Test Centre in Braddan.

The modernisation programme forms part of government's wider Efficiencies and Change Programme and is expected to deliver annual savings of around £675,000.

The DoI says it will continue to refine services based on user feedback and introduce further enhancements over time.
