Chief minister asked for debate on the payment method to be adjourned overnight
We could find out more about government's plans to replace MiCard payments later after the chief minister asked for more time for the treasury minister to put together a consolidated plan.
The payment method is due to be withdrawn at the end of the year, resulting in concern from some members about how those without bank accounts will be able to access their pension and benefits.
Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher brought a motion to this month's sitting asking for MiCards to remain in place until six months after an alternative is put in place.
Alex Allinson told the court plans would be coming forward at next month's sitting, but Alfred Cannan asked for the debate to be adjourned in the hope more details could be announced today:
