Charity seeking more help to manage its service-users
A Manx charity says it needs a funding boost to cope with the increase in demand it's seen since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Motiv8 is currently helping 405 people on the Island with their own, or a family member's, misuse of drugs, alcohol, gambling or gaming.
But it only has 14 members of staff.
It's believed nine in every 1000 people have a gambling disorder.
Motiv8 says for every person suffering with an addiction - as many as six family members, close friends or relatives will be affected as a result.
Chief executive of the charity Thea Ozenturk says more help would be beneficial to ensure they can sustain a zero waiting list policy:
