National Heritage says it doesn't own the MER structure
Manx National Heritage says it wasn't consulted over the removal of the weir in Laxey River, which it does not own.
It says Manx Utilities however, had invited the organisation to work with the authority and Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture in the design of a new weir.
But, it says, it hasn't objected to the removal of the structure following this week's flooding - and despite speculation MNH does not own the MER weir.
