More joined-up approach needed - Cretney
There's been a call for health services to adopt a more 'joined-up' approach in caring for those with dementia.
A Tynwald committee which is looking at mental health provision has been taking evidence from families of sufferers, and will report back to the Osland's parliament in the near future with recommendations.
Its chairman, David Cretney MLC, says it's identified areas where provision is 'unsuitable', especially for vulnerable members of the community.
He says those areas need to be addressed:
Carers: 'They are often the quiet heroes of our Island'
Hooper: 'Time to bite the bullet and build new hospital'
'No final decisions' made yet about relocating dementia patients says Manx Care
'We want to provide a facility for almost anybody'
