Minister without Portfolio to be quizzed on efficiency strategy

Crookall to make statement on £10 million initiative 

A new government minister will make a statement in the House of Keys today (3 December) about efficiency.

Tim Crookall left his role in the Department of Infrastructure to become ‘Minister without Portfolio’ in the chief minister’s latest reshuffle.

He’ll be quizzed, by Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, about how he intends to approach the £10 million efficiency programme which was outlined at this year’s Isle of Man Government Conference.

There are sixteen questions tabled for the sitting.

Douglas North MHK Chris Thomas will ask Mr Crookall’s DoI successor, Michelle Haywood, when her department will call for evidence regarding a potential ‘strategic reset’ of the Sea Services Agreement.

Questions have also been tabled on postal collection times, Crogga, the cost of demolishing a primary school, tree preservation and scaffolding.

The Income Tax Bill 2024 is also due to gets its second reading and clauses will be considered for the Treasury (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2024.

The House of Keys sitting will start at 10am.
