Students 'strike' from school for climate protest
A student protest demanding that government takes swifter action on climate change has been endorsed by the environment minister.
Ahead of a planned school strike, which will take place worldwide today (15 Mar), Geoffrey Boot says he welcomes the political involvement of the Island's young people.
Manx Radio understands students from a number of high schools will protest outside government buildings from midday, to bring attention to what they are calling, 'the biggest issue of our time'.
A second protest is also expected to take place at Tynwald Hill
Mr Boot says he is open to discussions.
