Efforts underway to reverse 'low morale'
Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft has responded to complaints over staffing in her Department, after the case of a seriously ill 20-year-old highlighted a nursing shortage.
Diane Torin went public with her case last week, as her disabled son Nathaniel lay awaiting an urgent operation in Ward 8 of Noble's Hospital.
She told Manx Radio nurses there were visibly 'overworked' and 'stressed' - with some even having taken sick leave.
Diane also pointed out the phone was rarely answered when she rang for updates on Nathaniel.
Mrs Beecroft says plans are in place to improve the situation.
