Gritting teams efforts acknowledged
The Infrastructure Minister has praised the emergency services and other government staff for all 'pulling together' during a weekend of disruptive wintry weather.
Ray Harmer MHK says the mixture of weather events over a short period of time caused a headache for those attempting to clear the Island's transport links.
Ronaldsway airport reportedly ran out of de-icer, after using a 3 month supply that typically lasts two years, given the normal amount of snow seen by the Island. It led to some flights being cancelled.
Meanwhile others have praised the DOI gritting teams for clearing many main roads quickly after the extreme weather.
Mr Harmer says teams from all services went the extra mile to ensure the disruption was minimal.
