The government minister who questioned the need for Ramsey Cottage Hospital during last month’s budget debate has had a change of heart after receiving a tour of the facility.
Phil Gawne questioned the financial viability of the hospital in response to comments made by Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer who said he had his own doubts about money being ploughed into the Manx Gaelic school in St John’s.
Mr Gawne is chairman of the school and Mr Singer is chairman of the League of Friends of the Hospital.
However, after accepting an invitation from Mr Singer to look round, Mr Gawne admits he’s impressed.
Mr Singer says he also plans to tour the Bunscooil in the near future.
