Unqualified staff carried out assessments
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says he still backs fitness-to-work tests for those on long-term illness benefits.
This week in Tynwald he apologised for a mistake by Dependability, the company carrying out the tests, which found 20 people fit to work by unqualified staff.
It’s the latest controversy surrounding the tests after a trial with Atos was scrapped and the assessments caused fierce debate in Tynwald and the House of Keys.
