
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Robertshaw has backed plans to give a further month’s reprieve to Ramsey’s crown post office.
A public meeting in the town last night unanimously backed giving extra time for alternatives to the closure of the branch to be put forward.
The House of Keys had already asked the Post Office to give a three-month “breathing space” to its plans to transfer services to a nearby shop.
After the gathering at Ramsey Grammar School last night, Mr Robertshaw said he thought it would be a good idea to allow an extra four weeks:
