Calls for report to be submitted to Tynwald by December
The Council of Ministers appears to be in denial that homelessness exists in the Isle of Man in 2023.
That's the view of Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse - he's tabled a motion on the subject for the October sitting of Tynwald.
More than a year after the Island's only night shelter closed his motion asks if Tynwald is of the opinion there's a need for greater support for homeless people through, in particular, the creation of a night shelter.
Mr Moorhouse wants the Housing and Communities Board to submit a report to Tynwald before 1 December with an update on progress and to address whether the board believes a Homeless Act should be introduced:
