MHK won't sign bishop's vote legislation

Rob Callister urges colleagues opposing Constitution Bill to do the same

The MHK that led calls for a pause in the bishop's vote debate says he won't be signing the legislation before it's sent for royal assent.

Onchan member Rob Callister sought to adjourn progress on the Constitution Bill, telling Manx Radio it would have allowed the matter to become an election issue.

After the House of Keys voted to pass the bill that would remove the bishop's vote in Tynwald, Mr Callister posted on social media that this will be the first time he doesn't sign a piece of legislation, and urged colleagues opposing the bill to do the same.
