President of Tynwald approves Christian's question
Permission has been granted for a Douglas South MHK to quiz the chief minister about an employment tribunal concerning the Island’s former medical director.
Claire Christian says the question she wants to ask Alfred Cannan has now been approved by the President of Tynwald – although the wording has been slightly revised.
Next week she’ll ask whether he was involved in any ‘discussions and decisions’ after 9 August last year in relation to pursuing or withdrawing the High Court appeal in the case.
This was between the Department of Health and Social Care and Dr Rosalind Ranson and was heard on 6 October; the DHSC subsequently lost.
The question, in its original form, had been originally blocked due to alleged ‘subjudice’.
My question has now been approved by the President of Tynwald and I will be asking the below on Tuesday in Parliament. pic.twitter.com/kG1l32kVzJ
