A Ramsey MHK will ask government to introduce financial support if gas bills on the Island rise.
Manx Gas wants to increase prices by 27.5 per cent, later this month, to combat global price hikes but needs Tynwald approval to do so.
It's feared it could lead to increasing levels of fuel poverty across the Isle of Man.
The Liberal Vannin party has urged government to protect Manx Gas consumers.
