South, not West Douglas, says Malarkey
An MHK hopes ‘common sense’ will prevail as he attempts to protect the name of his constituency.
South Douglas will next year become West Douglas as part of a revamp of House of Keys constituencies.
Under boundary changes from the General Election, there will be 12 two-seat constituencies, ensuring each MHK will represent roughly the same number of voters.
Bill Malarkey this week was given leave to try and ensure the name South Douglas remains.
He says geographically, the constituency should retain its name.
