Ayre and Michael member Tim Baker was seeking assurances for Island patients travelling to UK hospitals - after health chiefs appointed a new taxi provider for transfers in the north west of England.
Bridgewater has run the service for more than a decade, but that contract will end later this month following a competitive tender process.
Mr Baker says the Department of Health and Social Care has to prove the new provider’s standards are at least as high.
