Michael MHK Alf Cannan is the latest politician to speak out against the government's £4.5 million bailout of the Sefton Group.
Mr Cannan says the use of public money to support the group is 'ill judged and fundamentally unfair' to other businesses which are also struggling in the current economic climate.
In a statement issued this morning (Monday), the MHK says the proper course of action would have been to seek agreement to appoint an administrator to run the group as a going concern until a buyer could be found.
On Friday, Chief Minister Allan Bell announced a package of support he said would safeguard 300 jobs within Sefton, saying not to do so could cause severe harm to the Manx economy.
