Petition calls for review into leasing to developers
An MHK will present a petition to Tynwald calling for a review into the leasing of Manx territorial waters.
Garff member Andrew Smith will put forward the document on behalf of Ian Strafford from the No Offshore Turbines For Isle of Man - or NOT4IOM - campaign group.
The group was formed in response to the proposals for an 87-turbine development off the Island's east coast.
The petition asks for the review to look at setting a value for the seabed, the future financial risks and the lack of a Marine Spatial Plan.
Tynwald did back calls for such a plan at this month's sitting; you can find out more about that HERE.
It also calls for a full debate in the House of Keys in recognition of the group's petition, which has more than 8,000 signatures.
The petition will be laid before the court next month.
