550 set to benefit from 15 per cent benefit increase
Around 550 caregivers on the Isle of Man are having their government funded support increased.
Carer's Allowance on the Isle of Man is rising by 15 per cent.
It was one of the announcements made as part of this year's Budget which was approved by Tynwald yesterday.
That includes:
- Basic state pension, additional pension, Manx State Pension will all rise by 3.1 per cent
- Child Benefit and Employed Person's Allowance will both increase by 5 per cent
- Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance and Income Support for disability and disabled child premiums will rise by 5 per cent
- Income Support carer premium to increase by 26.4 per cent
- Nursing care contribution to increase by 3.1 per cent
