Chris Thomas insists the legislation isn't necessary
A Douglas Central MHK has been reflecting on government's decision to fast-track new laws preventing Isle of Man Energy from cutting off certain people.
Chris Thomas previously said the Gas Regulation Bill was rushed and that there were too many unknowns.
Towards the end of November, almost 100 Manx residents were threatened with disconnections, with as many as 30 already cut off.
The supplier says this was because the residents in question had failed to engage about outstanding debt.
Mr Thomas supports protections for vulnerable people, but maintains the legislation isn't necessary:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
WCAS reuse garages to reopen on trial basis
Manannan's morning sailings cancelled due to weather conditions
