
An MHK says he’s not surprised the leader of the Scottish National Party resigned after losing the crucial vote on independence this week.
Alex Salmond announced he was stepping down as Scotland’s First Minister after the referendum saw voters opting to stay part of the UK.
Rushen MHK Phil Gawne says he’s met Mr Salmond a number of times, and as nationalists they shared many beliefs.
But he says he’s not surprised at the resignation announcement:
