Minister to head meeting this afternoon
The MHK who tabled an urgent motion in a bid to save the horse trams is hopeful a solution can be found.
Kate Beecroft yesterday called for a government led assessment of the service to ensure the trams are retained in one form or another – a move which was unanimously backed by colleagues in the House of Keys.
This afternoon (Wednesday), Phil Gawne will head a meeting of MHKs, councillors, Tourism, and public transport officials, Manx National Heritage and Culture Vannin to further discuss the issue.
Five days after Douglas Corporation said it was no longer 'financially viable' to operate the trams, Mrs Beecroft is heartened by the turnaround.
