Ramsey member fears Manx workers will be paid less for doing same roles as migrant workers
An MHK says the policy on living wage for migrant workers is 'absolutely bizarre', accusing government of creating a two-tier system.
From October, those seeking to come to the Island on a working visa will be required to have a job that pays living wage.
Government previously committed to match minimum wage with living wage by April this year, but did not do so.
Treasury Minister Alex Allinson recently told the House of Keys the move will ensure migrants receive an adequate wage without undercutting Manx workers, but Ramsey member Lawrie Hooper doesn't accept that explanation:

The treasury minister believes there's a misconception around the policy on wages for migrant workers.
