DHSC claims doses were lost due to a lack of 'willing' people
Fifteen vaccine doses were wasted in one week in February.
The Department of Health and Social Care claims it ‘was not possible’ to find people who were ‘willing’ to come to the Chester Street hub, at short notice, for them.
Ten people will now be kept on standby each day to receive a coronavirus vaccination to avoid future wastage.
It’s part of a new process being trialled to mitigate against people who don’t turn up for their jab or who cancel last minute.
