Building won't be registered
A West Douglas MHK says he's disappointed to hear the Nunnery, associated buildings and its grounds will not be put on the Protected Buildings Register.
Chris Thomas recently asked a Tynwald question for written reply on the matter, which can still be done during the summer recess.
He was told the Nunnery would not be registered, as there is no current risk of it being demolished.
That is current government policy with such buildings.
Mr Thomas doesn't think that's good enough, considering the Nunnery's historical significance:
