An MHK who wants the summer political recess shortened says he’s determined to bring about change.

As it stands, the Manx parliament does not sit in August, September or the first two weeks of October, although politicians can still submit questions during the summer break.

A House of Keys committee is to examine whether the schedule needs changing.

Middle member Bill Shimmins says by aligning sittings more closely to school holidays, it would make parliament more diverse.
