A Douglas South MHK is demanding a Select Committee be established to review government’s handling of the Dr Rosalind Ranson case.
Earlier this week, the chief minister made a statement in the House of Keys after it was determined the Island’s former medical director should be awarded £3.2million after being unfairly dismissed for whistleblowing.
Alfred Cannan announced Tynwald will be asked to consider an 'independent assessment', which Claire Christian asked if that would include the Attorney General's Chambers and political involvement.
Mr Cannan said the final scope of any assessment would be up to Tynwald.
Meanwhile, a question from MHK John Wannenburgh probed the culture of government, which Ms Christian believes is significant because the chief minister gave ‘advice’ to the Department of Health and Social Care to proceed with a second appeal:
