Hoteliers could face financial losses
South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft says losing the Douglas horse trams could hit hoteliers and other tourism businesses in the pocket.
This morning (Tues 26th) in the House of Keys, she’ll ask permission to introduce an urgent motion calling for action in the face of the service’s closure.
Mrs Beecroft says the timetable for any action to save the 140 year old trams is very tight with both the council and the government due to set budgets in coming weeks.
But she says losing the historic trams could cost the Island’s tourism industry:
