
The MHK for Castletown says he wants to see the Island's agricultural and food output form a much larger part of the Island's economy.
Richard Ronan has tabled a motion for this month's sitting of Tynwald calling for the minister for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to produce a strategy to achieve this.
He wants to see agricultural output increase to 7% of the Island's GDP by 2025.
It currently stands at one point seven per cent.
Mr Ronan says the figure is achievable, and the current figure of less than 2% is shameful:
