HEAR brands proposals regressive
An MHK seeking to reform the Isle of Man's abortion laws says change is vital to ensure women's human rights are upheld.
Ramsey member Alex Allinson will ask the House of Keys for permission to introduce a private members bill to update the law later this month.
The Manx regime, set in 1995, allows terminations in only limited circumstances - forcing many women to end unwanted pregnancies at private clinics in the UK.
He's described the Island's abortion laws - more restrictive than anywhere else in the UK - as 'Victorian':
