Advice from police head of motorsport event
Police are urging people travelling to the Island for the Manx Grand Prix to secure their belongings.
The event gets underway today (16 August).
Officers say visitors can take simple steps at ports to stop opportunistic theft.
These include using a disc lock or chain on bikes, having an alarm or tracker and using a cover.
Officers have also advised taking important personal paperwork - like passports - out of top boxes when bikes are left unattended.
