Raven manager calls for reinstatement of two-week programme
The manager of a pub on the TT course is calling on organisers to reinstate the old Manx Grand Prix schedule.
The Raven's located next to the famous Ballaugh Bridge, 17 miles into the course.
David Haigh says business has been quieter this week than during previous MGPs.
He thinks a two-week format would improve sales again:
The Ginger Hall in Sulby's told Manx Radio it's done about half as much business as it did during last year's MGP.
Landlord Mark Evans says the weather's been part of the problem:
Earlier in the week, Manx Grand Prix organisers issued a statement saying it's not possible to implement medical and marshal cover for a full second week of racing.
The statement says that the weather disruption this year has been unprecedented, and it would have affected a longer schedule too.
The Manx Motor Cycle Club has submitted a strategy on the event's future to the Department for Enterprise.
